Sandbox vs Production in Zapier

Guidance on choosing the correct Sandbox or Production environment when using Access PaySuite DDCMS with Zapier.

Access PaySuite DDCMS provides two environments for Zapier. Choosing the correct environment ensures your Zaps run against the right data.

Choose and connect your environment

Sandbox is a dedicated test environment where you can safely build and validate workflows using nonโ€‘live data. In contrast, Production is your live environment, containing real customer, Direct Debit and payment records used in dayโ€‘toโ€‘day operations.

To connect in Zapier:

  1. Add Access PaySuite DDCMS as a trigger or action.

  2. Click Sign in.

  3. Enter your Client Code and API Key.

  4. Select Sandbox or Production.

  5. Click Allow.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Create two labeled connections such as Access PaySuite DDCMS โ€“ Sandbox and Access PaySuite DDCMS โ€“ Production.

Check which environment your Zap uses

In any Zap step:

  • Review the Account selected.

  • Confirm whether it shows Sandbox or Production.

If sample data looks missing or incorrect, the Zap is likely using the wrong environment.

Move a Zap from Sandbox to Production

  1. Build and test the Zap in Sandbox.

  2. Duplicate the Zap.

  3. Switch all steps to your Production connection.

  4. Test with live sample data.

  5. Turn on the Production Zap.

  6. Turn off the Sandbox version.

Common environment issues

  • No sample data: Sandbox contains no test records, or the wrong environment is selected.

  • Record not found: The reference only exists in the other environment.

  • Unexpected updates: Steps in the Zap use mixed environments.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Use the same environment for every Access PaySuite DDCMS step in your Zap.
