Introduction

This document outlines all you need to know about this version of the Direct Debit Platform. It provides a brief summary of the changes and, further in the document, more detailed information on each item.

Version 10.5.7 is a fix release. It contains ten fixes that improve inline editing and validation of outgoing Direct files, payment re-presentation, credit reference validation, the contract Calendar tab, the SD API, advance notice letters and Client Admin report navigation.

Enhancements

There are no enhancements in this release.

Fixes

Inline editing of Direct files: saving a line now checks the whole line

ADO #2890923

When you edited an errored line in a Direct file and clicked Save, only the fields you changed were checked. A line with other invalid fields, or a line saved with no changes, could leave the errored lines list even though it was still invalid. Save now checks the whole line. A line that is still invalid stays in the errored lines list and the error count stays correct.

Inline editing of Direct files: pay date picker only offers the next available Bacs pay date

ADO #2890925

For Direct Debit Instruction lines (0N, 0S and 0C), the pay date picker offered every working day, but Save rejected all dates except the next available Bacs pay date. The picker now offers only the next available Bacs pay date. The existing validation message remains as a safeguard.

Direct file validation: temporary database errors are now retried

ADO #2890924

A single temporary database connection error during validation could set a whole outgoing file to Validation failed. Temporary errors are now retried, so the file continues to validation instead of failing. Other types of error are not retried.

Claimed payments can no longer be re-presented

ADO #2888870

A payment that was already claimed under the Direct Debit Indemnity Guarantee could be re-presented. This was possible from the re-present button, the re-present form, both APIs and bulk upload. Claimed payments are now excluded from re-presentation in all of these places.

Credit references made of one repeated character in Direct Files are now accepted

ADO #2874497

Valid credit lines on Standard 18 files were rejected when the reference was made of one repeated character, for example "33". The rule against a single repeated character applies to Direct Debit references only. It is no longer applied to credit transactions.

Represent template accepts due dates on non-working days

ADO #2868409

A represent file with a due date on a weekend or other non-working day was rejected with a validation error. The check that limited the due date to working days has been removed. The change applies to file uploads, the API and the user interface.

Contract Calendar tab shows the 0N band to the last blocked day

ADO #2873654

On the contract Calendar tab, the 0N and Migrated 0N band ended one day before the last blocked day. For example, a 0N that blocks payments up to and including 3 November showed the band ending on 2 November. The band now ends on the last blocked day. This was a display issue only. Payment blocking was already correct, other Calendar tab events are unchanged and the API v3 contract event response is unchanged.

SD API: repeated identical update calls no longer create new versions

ADO #2820900

Sending the same SD API variable Direct Debit update call again could create a new contract stream version and an amendment notice, although nothing had changed. A resend of the original start date, or of a first amount that has already been collected, is now treated as no change. No new version or amendment notice is created.

Advance notice letters: merge fields inside gift aid text are now replaced

ADO #2881750

Some advance notice letters did not show contract details. This happened when the wording and merge fields were held in the gift aid text and added to the letter with the gift aid text placeholder. The merge fields inside that wording are now replaced, so contract details appear in the letter.

Client Admin Reports menu highlights Customer list on the Contract list V2 page

ADO #1992724

When the Contract list V2 report is turned on, the Customer list item in the Client Admin Reports menu was not highlighted on the report page, unlike the other reports. It is now highlighted.
