What's New
This significant enhancement extends DDCMS Direct functionality to support client grouping, enabling users to manage multiple clients through the active client scope selection system. Built upon the proven DDCMS grouping infrastructure, this implementation ensures consistent behaviour and seamless integration with your existing client management workflows. This feature provides comprehensive integration across all DDCMS Direct screens whilst maintaining data integrity and proper access controls
Dynamic Feature Tab Visibility
The user interface now intelligently displays feature tabs based on your Active Client scope selection and individual client configurations. When you select clients with only DDCMS enabled, you'll see standard DDCMS functionality tabs exclusively (Customers, Schedules, File Upload…). When selecting clients with DDCMS Direct enabled, only The DDCMS Direct tab appears. For mixed client selections where some clients have DDCMS and others have DDCMS Direct, both sets of tabs become available simultaneously, and each feature will filter data appropriately based on which clients support that specific feature.
The system updates tab visibility in real-time as you change your active scope without requiring page refreshes and returns you to the Home screen to ensure you start with the most relevant dashboard for your new selection. Additionally, the system prevents access to unsupported features - if you attempt to access DDCMS Direct functionality when only DDCMS-enabled clients are in your scope (via direct URL or bookmark), you'll be redirected with a clear error message explaining the feature is not available for your selected clients:
Enhanced Administrator Screen Management
Single Client Configuration Safeguards
To ensure configuration integrity and prevent accidental cross-client settings applications, the Administrator screen now enforces single client selection. When multiple clients are selected in your active scope, the system automatically disables or hides the Permissions, Email Notifications, and Settings sections. A clear message appears:
This safeguard ensures that all configuration changes - whether updating user permissions, configuring email notification preferences, or modifying system settings - are applied only to the intended client. When you select a single client in your active scope, all administrative functions become available, and the Active Client scope clearly indicates which specific client you're configuring.
Enhanced Group-Based User Visibility
The Administrator screen now intelligently displays users based on both group membership and direct client assignments. When you access the Administrator screen for a client that's part of a group, you'll see a new Assignment column displaying:
Group Users: Users assigned to the group who have access to all clients within that group, clearly marked with "Group Access"
Direct Client Users: Users assigned specifically to your client only, displayed with "Direct: [Client Name] only"
Filtered Visibility: The system excludes users who are assigned only to other clients in the group, showing only those who have access to the specific client in scope, either directly or via a group.
For example, if you're administering Client A within a group containing Clients A, B, and C, you'll see users assigned to the entire group (who can access all three clients) and users assigned directly to Client A. However, users assigned only to Client B or Client C won't appear, maintaining clear boundaries for administrative control.
Multi-Client Review Capabilities
Intelligent Home Screen Dashboard
The DDCMS Direct Home screen now displays data based on your active scope selection, showing only information relevant to the client(s) you're currently managing. This ensures you see tasks and recent files for your selected clients whilst filtering out information from clients outside your current scope.
Approval Workflow
The Approvals screen shows only files pending approval for the client selected in the active scope.
When submitting files for approval, only relevant approvers with permissions for the specific client’s file are displayed, filtered by client-specific permissions and group membership.
File Management
Outgoing and Incoming files are filtered by the active scope selection. Search filter functionality in these areas works in combination with scope filtering.
File Upload Safeguards
The system now enforces single-client scope selection throughout the entire file upload and processing workflow. This applies to all stages of the process, including when setting processing dates, SUN validation, bank account selection, and file submission.
The implementation includes scope-aware validation for Service User Numbers (SUNs) and bank account selections during file uploads, ensuring these validations only apply to the selected client. When only one client is selected, files are automatically associated with that client, and all subsequent SUN and bank account validations apply only to the selected client. The system also handles dynamic scope changes - if you change your scope during an upload process, you'll be notified to update your scope back to the original client to continue
How to access this update
