When adding a patch, the From date must never be earlier than the contract start date. To rectify this, change the From date to the contract start date or later.
If you're trying to apply a patch to the first payment on a contract, due to be collected on the contract start date, applying the Patch with a From date of the contract start date will ensure the patch is applied correctly to that payment.
