Extend the contract end date

Extend a contract end date when a customer is on an end‑on‑exact‑date or number‑of‑debits payment schedule.

Written by Gemma Langley

There may be occasions where you need to extend the contract end date, particularly when the customer is set up on an end‑on‑exact‑date schedule or a number‑of‑debits schedule. In these scenarios, adjusting the end date ensures the remaining payments are collected correctly and the contract aligns with the updated payment plan.

  1. Within the CUSTOMERS tab, find the customer by searching any of the fields.

  2. Click View Customer the eye icon, this opens the customer's PROFILE.

  3. Click the customer’s CONTRACTS tab within their profile.

  4. Drop down the > under No for the schedule you wish to amend.

📌Note: The Copy from current active version checkbox appears when adding a payment schedule version with As soon as possible, allowing you to autopopulate the form using the current active schedule. It copies and adjusts all relevant details, while still letting you edit or choose to start from scratch if needed.

  9. Within Terminating Payments, update one of the following fields:

    • End on this date – Change this to the new required end date.

    • Take this number of payments and stop – Enter the total number of payments you need to collect.

  10. Enter all other required fields, including amount and collection date.

  11. Click Next Step once actioned.

  12. Click Confirm these changes and this will take you back to the previous screen.

  13. On the schedule row under Actions, click the double green cog icon.

  14. Click View/Amend Schedule Versions to see the updated contract end date.

You can view the extended contract end date by selecting View Calendar next to the green cog icon, which will display the future pending payments. You can also view the new end date in CONTRACT UPDATES.
