SmartDebit clients currently send emails under their own company identity. The DKIM update maintains this professional branding—without it, emails would revert to a generic, unmonitored Paysuite address, compromising their personalised appearance.
Why is this change happening?
Following the SmartDebit migration completion, the existing email platform will be discontinued on 30th April 2026. Updates are essential to maintain email delivery services.
What happens if I don't update my DKIM records?
After 30th April 2026, we’ll no longer be able to send Direct Debit related emails from your own email address. This may disrupt customer communications and potentially impact business operations and compliance obligations. Without adding DKIM records to your Domain DNS, Access PaySuite will only be able to send emails on your behalf from an unmonitored “do-not-reply” address.
Can the deadline be extended?
No, this is a firm deadline that cannot be extended. The platform shuts down on 30th April 2026 regardless of individual circumstances.
Will this affect emails we send on behalf of customers?
This won’t affect emails you send in the normal course of business, but Access PaySuite will no longer be able to send Direct Debit related emails from your email address or domain going forward without the DKIM records being in place. Without them, emails will originate from an Access PaySuite email address instead of your own email/domain.
What is a DKIM record?
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a security standard that helps email providers verify that emails are genuinely from your domain and haven't been tampered with through an electronic “signature”. It's an essential tool to ensure email deliverability.
How to get a new DKIM record?
Our technical team will provide your specific DKIM record. Please contact our Access Digital Assistant and request to speak with a member of the support team.
How long does DNS propagation take?
DNS changes typically take 24-48 hours to propagate globally but can take up to 72 hours in some cases.
The process of implementation with the technical team
Contact the technical team via the Access Digital Assistant.
The technical team will issue you with three CNAME records for you to add to your DNS.
Let us know when you have added the records.
The technical team will change settings on Access' side to ensure your Direct Debit related email keeps flowing.
Will this affect my current email campaigns?
Existing email services will operate normally until 30th April 2026. Thereafter, emails will originate from an unmonitored do-not-reply address unless DKIM configuration is properly implemented.
📌 Note: These changes are mandatory and must be implemented by the deadline of 30th April 2026.
